Ving Lee, PhD - Senior Vice President, Research, Limerick BioPharma - has devoted many years to the discovery of new anti-infectives. He will discuss how revisiting old natural products, with defined endpoints for clinical needs, provides potential commercial opportunities; examples from the discovery of new tetracyclines, beta-lactams for problematic Gram-positive pathogens, and uridyl peptide antibiotics will be highlighted. He will also discuss how observations from the above work led to a component of the technology platform of Limerick Biopharm Inc.
