Jen Liu, of Orrick, will provide a presentation addressing document management strategies with an eye towards managing e-discovery in anticipation of, and during litigation. The discussion will cover recent developments in the case law concerning e-discovery issues and suggestions for implementing a document management system that effectively complies with the current state of the law for document retention policies, while retaining a scope that is manageable and has the minimum impact on the day-to-day operations of the company. The session will also include ample opportunity for questions and answers from the audience.

Zheng (Jen) Liu, an associate in the Silicon Valley office, is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. Ms. Liu's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, intellectual property counseling and patent prosecution across a broad range of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical devices, diagnostics, computer networking and telecommunications.
Before joining Orrick, Ms. Liu was an associate at the law firm of Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder, LLP. At Day Casebeer, Ms. Liu was a member of the life sciences team advising biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on patent matters. She was extensively involved in matters representing Amgen Inc., Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc., Isis Pharmaceutical Inc., Napo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Lily ICOS LLC.
